[ALIAS] hny_bfly - also known as ‘Butterfly’ or ‘Mari Posa’

[INTRO] Step into the mindset of hny_bfly – strangely alluring with a generous injection of humor. I somehow bring the characters that have been living (and haunting me) in my mind to life. I like to describe my images as ominous, florid and farcical but always spiced with ‘a lil bit of me’, in keeping with my effervescent personality.

[BIO] Born in The Netherlands, I was abducted and raised by an alien, now known as my mother. My passion in creativity was distinct at a very early age. I’ve spent hundreds of hours at my granddad’s side as he taught me all the basics of drawing and painting. I actually wrecked his house with the hundreds of drawings I made him put in a frame and hang up, from the kitchen to the bathroom!

[CURRENTLY] Upon graduation in 2004 as a graphic designer, and finishing evening classes at the Fashion Academy, I currently work at a German company where I make their specials, posters, billboards etc. I still feel – artistically- unsatisfied and am planning to go back to college to study ‘illustrating’ at the Academy of Arts in The Netherlands.
I’m currently studying HTML (at home). I found myself becoming a slave to my (web)designs so recently I only get like four to five hours sleep at night.

[DREAM] My life’s dream is to become a freelance (fashion) Illustrator and making my exhibition debut preferably in a city like New York. Although the Dutch are known for their excellence in design, my boredome allready has struck me and feel I’m still – artistically- locked up in a cage here in The Netherlands.

[ON THE SIDE] When I’m not doing art, I can usually be found with my partner in crime, miss Ira. If I could only count the hours we bitch about our life, and blaiming it on The Netherlands, I’d still be counting tomorrow! Together we are in pursuit of a carreer as - briefly worded - designers.

[ART THEFT] I’m happily willing to guide the non creative souls and entertain artistically incompetend foolz as I know art-theft is a hype nowadays.
